Mr. Kithil is the author of more than 150 articles and publications about lightning safety, and is designated as a "Nationally Recognized Expert Consultant" on lightning safety issues by the US Government Dept. of Energy (DOE).

His consulting work with federal agencies includes DOE, US Air Force, US Navy, US Army, NASA, National Weather Service, EPA, NOAA, etc.

He is an appointed member of the US Govt's DOE and DOD Lightning Protection Committees.
