Description
The Skyscan EWS-PRO 2 portable Lightning Detector is an industrial grade Class 4 Lightning Detector which has the capability to provide a forewarning to approaching severe weather conditions, and which can assist in the determinations for the suspension and resumption of safe workplace procedures.
The Skyscan EWS Pro 2operates as an “Instant Ranging Device” (IRD), meaning that every detected “Cloud to Ground” lightning strike is ranged immediately via the four (4) high visibility distance LED’s, from the very first strike detected. It is a self-contained instrument that can detect “Cloud to Ground” lightning strikes from up to 60 kms away.
The Skyscan EWS-PRO2 samples and analyzes selected pairs of frequencies within a specific electromagnetic spectrum of each “Cloud to Ground” lightning stroke, and by analyzing the frequency and amplitude of the lightning waveform, it is able to compute the approximate distance to the detected threat to within one (1) of four (4) distance ranges.
Skyscan EWS PRO 2 provides its threat alerts via its 105 DB audible horn, and four (4) high intensity coded LED’s, which allows remote threat recognition for users.
It is provided with an internal Sealed Lead Acid rechargeable battery with a new intelligent battery recharging system that can operate for 7+ days from a single charge.
This lightning detector is well suited for remote area workgroups that may have high background noise.
